Doctor of Chiropractic (DC)
Dr. Joe Kula is a sports chiropractor that integrates soft tissue treatment, manipulation, functional rehabilitation and exercise when treating patients. He utilizes multiple treatment techniques that many professional athletes use today, including the following: Active Release Technique, Graston Technique, and SpiderTech Kinesiology Taping. He uses Motion Palpation Technique for manipulation and restoration of proper joint mobility, and incorporates functional rehabilitation to ensure proper stability and movement patterns. Throughout his past sports chiropractic internships and involvement with chiropractic sports councils, Dr. Kula has gained experience treating the active population and athletes of all ages, professional to weekend warrior. Dr. Kula strives to educate patients on their condition, and have them actively participate in their recovery in order to prevent a relapse of their condition.
Dr. Kula was born and raised in Springfield, IL and went on to become a dual sport athlete in college. He played on nationally ranked collegiate soccer and tennis teams, and was an All-American doubles tennis player. He enjoys interacting with people and is passionate about sports and living a happy, healthy and active lifestyle.

Dr. Kula served as a past president and founder of the Logan Sports Council (www.logansportscouncil.com). He served as the Vice President National Student Liaison for the ACA Sports Council (www.acasc.org), and is currently serving on a couple committees. He presented a “Progressive Rehabilitation Sequencing” poster during the ACA Sports Council Student Research Poster Presentation in Portland, OR 2010. He has presented numerous Sports Injury and Rehabilitation lectures to the Logan Sports Council, and also served as a teaching assistant in the Logan BIOFREEZE Sports and Rehabilitation Center. Dr. Kula served as the Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Jefferson College Soccer Team in Hillsboro, MO. He has been a part time tennis instructor for the past 10 years, and has implemented many tennis-specific training programs for competitive junior and college players.
