biography

Dr. Katie Horton graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic in December 2009. She is skilled in various adjustment techniques, including Diversified, Sacro Occipital Technique, Cox Flexion Distraction, Activator Method, Logan Basic, and Motion Palpation. She also obtained a post-graduate certification in Chiropractic Care of Pregnancy and Pediatrics. As well, Dr. Horton is a Certified Active Release Techniques (ART) Provider.

Dr. Horton spent the past year working as a chiropractor in Missouri. She has experience treating patients of all ages including infants, adolescents, young mothers, and athletes. Dr. Horton has a B.S. degree from Missouri State University in Sports Medicine & Athletic Training, and is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC). While at Missouri State, she had the opportunity to treat athletes from various sports at the high school and collegiate levels, as well as fitness enthusiasts and weekend warriors in a sports medicine clinic.
In addition to chiropractic care, Dr. Horton advocates nutrition and exercise as vital components of a healthy lifestyle. She has taken additional coursework and seminars in nutrition, and has been an instructor for a diverse range of group fitness classes. She recognizes the importance of proper biomechanical function to achieve optimal performance. Dr. Horton feels it is important to deliver innovative approaches of sports rehab to her patients for successful results. Dr. Horton addresses each patient’s individual needs with a compassionate, open-minded, and motivational attitude.

Dr. Horton was raised in Hermann, Missouri. She participated in high school volleyball and basketball; since then, she has continued to play volleyball on women’s club teams in the Missouri area. Her interests include traveling and foreign language, reading, and exercising. Dr. Horton fell in love with the Pacific Northwest while spending two summers in college as a nanny for a family in Anchorage, Alaska. She enjoys outdoor activities along the coast and in the mountains, and is eager to embrace life in the Seattle/Tacoma area.
